Oak Grove High School, Maple Elementary and Primary Building

Oak Grove R-VI is home to 2,037 students. It is the mission of the Oak Grove R-VI School District to create an environment for students to become lifelong learners by providing the guidance, tools, and opportunities to maximize their academic, social, and individual potential.

For years the district had relied on TREMCO for the replacement of roof assemblies. In May 2008, the district received proposals for replacement of leaking roof assemblies at the high school and primary facilities. An ESCO included an alternate approach for the replacement using pressure equalization technology. The Board of Education selected this approach which included additional roof sections, higher insulation levels and longer warranted roof assemblies at significant cost savings – enough to replace the majority of HVAC units at the primary school while remaining within the original project budget.

The initial project proved to be so successful that the district has deployed WindSmart technology on all projects since then. To date additional projects include re-roofing sections at the high school, the gymnasium (standing seam metal roof overlay) and Maple Elementary School.

The projects were developed and installed to achieve:

  • High wind uplift resistance to 80 MPH
  • Continual moisture mitigation through a process of controlled air exchange
  • A high level of environmental stewardship which avoided roof “tear off”, thus allowing 100% recycling of existing air barrier and insulation materials
  • Fast-track construction timelines (summer installations)
